Having a Little Fawn in Jones Point Park
Two young deer spotted Tuesday night in Jones Point Park.

A week after Parkfairfax residents began reporting a family of deer making their home in the neighborhood’s wooded areas, Patch spotted two young deer dining Tuesday evening in a wooded area of Jones Point Park.
This reporter likes to think they took Capital Bikeshare from Rock Creek Park to sample the cuisine in Old Town.
Given the scare some Old Towners received in June after spotting a wild turkey loose along Union Street, it’s worth mentioning that Alexandria Animal Control will not remove any species of native wildlife that has not entered a living space, unless it is sick, injured or posing a safety threat.

The deer are considered urban wildlife and are free to roam where they like.
One more thing: If you haven’t checked out the renovated Jones Point Park, do yourself a favor and get down there. Who knows what you might see?
