Question: What is the difference between a cotton and nylon flag?

Answer: Nylon is the most popular flag material. It will fly in a light breeze and won't fade as quickly in bright sunlight. It is also durable and dries quickly.

Polyester is heavier than nylon and lasts longer with richer colors. It does not fly well in light breezes but works well in high wind locations.

Cotton is the traditional material for flags and provides deep rich colors for display use. Cotton does not fly well in light breezes and is not as durable as a nylon or polyester flag.

Question: Is it proper to display an American flag with fewer than 50 stars?

Answer: Yes, as long as the flag was once an official flag, it will remain so.

Question: Is it proper to fly a flag that has been used as a casket cover?
