Jackson 20 to Host Third Annual 'Soil to Soul' Sept. 29 in Alexandria
Neighborhood block-party featuring local farmers, restaurants to benefit Old Town Farmers Market SNAP, EBT programs.
ALEXANDRIA, VA -- For the third year, Jackson 20 will host “Soil to Soul,” a neighborhood block party benefitting Old Town Farmers' Market’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) program. The evening will feature fresh produce and products from local farms, as well as seasonal bites and cocktails from Jackson 20’s neighbors Ashlar Restaurant and Bar, BRABO by Robert Wiedmaier and Vermillion.
Proceeds from the tickets will go directly to the SNAP/EBT program. Eligible families will have the opportunity to “double” their dollars at the Old Town Farmers’ Market, enabling them to buy more farm fresh items for their homes.
Mark your calendars: “Soil to Soul” will take place on Thursday, Sept. 29 from 6-9 p.m. in Jackson 20’s courtyard patio. Prizes will be given for outdoor games and festivities. Local beers and Virginia wines will be available. Everyone is welcome to join the fall community fun.
