Update: Minivan Runs Into Baja Fresh on Duke Street

Two patrons were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A minivan driven by a 67-year-old woman on Friday afternoon ran into the Baja Fresh restaurant on Duke Street injuring two patrons.

A 42-year-old male was trapped under the front of the vehicle while dining outside at 3231 Duke Street. He was extricated by firefighters who discovered he suffered a lower leg injury and was taken to Fairfax Hospital. A 25-year-old woman, a city resident, sustained minor injuries from debris related to the collision at the restaurant. She was taken to Inova Alexandria.

Both patrons were treated on the scene at 3231 Duke Street by paramedics and transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
