More Strong Thunderstorms Forecast For NoVA, DC Monday
DC, Northern Virginia can expect more thunderstorms Monday that will give way to a cool and dry week, the National Weather Service said.
VIRGINIA — Another round of thunderstorms is predicted for Monday afternoon in Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia, before a taste of fall moves in, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service.
By late Monday night, the clouds should clear, with rain chances ending by 2 a.m. Tuesday, the NWS said. A hazardous weather outlook is in place for the Baltimore-Washington, D.C., region with strong thunderstorms possible across the waters, particularly the southern waters, which may require special marine warnings.
"Plan for a taste of autumn with unseasonably cool temperatures on Tuesday. High temperatures will be about 10 degrees below average. Expect sunshine and low humidity," saidWJLA's Brian van de Graaff, senior meteorologist. "Wednesday morning will be chilly for August, with many neighborhoods starting off in the 50s."

As the remnants of former hurricane Ernesto continue on a path to the north-northeast following landfall on Bermuda early Saturday morning, seas and surf will remain rough along the coast from the Delmarva Peninsula to Maine through Monday, Accuweather.com said.
The hazardous weather outlook is for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay, tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.

High temperatures will creep close to 90 degrees again just in time for the weekend.

Monday Afternoon: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Northwest wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Monday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 11pm, then isolated showers between 11pm and 2am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 64. Northwest wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. Northwest wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57. North wind 5 to 7 mph.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 77. Northwest wind around 7 mph.
Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 82.
Thursday Night: Clear, with a low around 60.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 86.
