New Restaurant Helmed by World BBQ Champ Eyes October Opening in Alexandria
Myron Mixon's Pitmaster Barbeque is expected to open this fall at 220 N. Lee St., the location of former Overwood restaurant.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Barbeque aficionados, start your engines. A new restaurant featuring a menu headed by celebrity pitmaster Myron Mixon, aka "Lord of Q," is gearing up to open this fall in Alexandria, eyeing an early October opening, the manager of the new restaurant said Tuesday.
Mixon is the "pitmaster" of Jack’s Old South, judge on BBQ Pitmasters and a cookbook author, and he will bring his BBQ expertise to the new eatery, Myron Mixon’s Pitmaster Barbeque. The restaurant will open at 220 N. Lee St., the former location of Overwood restaurant, which recently closed. The owners of Overwood will be part owners with Mixon of the new restaurant.

The folks at Pork Barrel BBQ in Alexandria named Mixon as the "fifth most influential person in BBQ" on their list of the 25 most influential people in the industry.
Atlas Partners LLC has filed for and received a retail license with the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for Myron Mixon's Pitmaster Barbeque.
