NWS Issues Severe Thunderstorm Watch, Hazardous Weather Advisory

The City of Alexandria and its neighboring localities are under a severe thunderstorm watch, according to the National Weather Service.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely on Friday, mainly before 11 p.m. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds. The chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

However, Saturday and Sunday are expected to be mostly sunny with a high of around 89 degrees.
