Pedestrian Dies In Alexandria Crash, Driver From Fairfax Charged
Alexandria Police say a driver faces DWI and hit-and-run charges tied to a pedestrian crash.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A pedestrian has died following an Alexandria crash near the border with Fairfax and Arlington counties.
Police had responded around 8:38 p.m. Wednesday to the 4700 block of King Street for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Officers encountered a pedestrian that had been hit, as well as a downed electric pole.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died of his injuries. He was identified as Abdullahi Mumin, 19.

The driver, Jilmar Doria-Medina, 42, of Fairfax, was arrested by Fairfax County Police and charged with DWI-elevated blood alcohol content .15 to .20 and two counts of hit-and-run.
