Alexandria Man With 56 Felony Warrants Arrested, Stolen Gun Recovered: Police

Police had responded to a call about a suspect trying to break into a vehicle and displaying a gun. One suspect had 56 felony warrants.

LINCOLNIA, VA — Fairfax County Police have revealed details of two arrests following a call of an attempted car break-in with a gun in Lincolnia. One of the suspects had 56 felony warrants.

Around 2:57 a.m. on June 5, Fairfax County Police responded to the 4800 block of Virginia Street in Lincolnia. The caller had said a suspect was trying to break into their vehicle and had displayed a gun.

Arriving officers found three men leaving the area in a vehicle and detained them. Further investigation found two men were involved in the incident — Christopher Couglan, 29, and Meron Tekle, 30, of Alexandria.

Police found two guns, one of which was stolen from an unsecured vehicle days before.

Couglan was charged with two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of felon in possession of ammunition, and two counts of carrying a concealed firearm. He was also served with 56 outstanding felony warrants from another locality. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held without bond.
