Police Investigating Alleged Sex Assault of Girl, 12
Montgomery County Police say police are investigating whether girl was sexually assaulted Saturday, March 26 in Alexandria.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Alexandria Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault of a 12-year old girl on Saturday, March 26 in the City, according to the Montgomery County, Md. Police Department.

The Maryland police say the girl was kidnapped and taken to Alexandria on March 26.
Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department and Alexandria Police Department in Virginia are investigating similar sex crimes that occurred in their jurisdictions, Montgomery County said.

The Montgomery County Police Department's Special Victims Investigations Division on Wednesday charged Enrique Carbajal, 24, and Victor Tome, 19, both of Wheaton, Md., with kidnapping and rape of the girl.
On March 31, detectives began investigating the alleged kidnapping and rape of the girl that occurred in Wheaton, according to Montgomery County Police.
Preliminary investigation revealed that on March 26, a suspect later identified as Carbajal, who is known to the victim’s family, made contact with the victim without the parent’s permission at an address in Washington, D.C., Montgomery County Police said.
Carbajal drove the victim to his and Tome’s shared residence in Wheaton, where she was allegedly sexually assaulted by both suspects, according to Montgomery County Police.
It is believed that the victim was then taken to an address in Virginia, Montgomery County Police said.
On Tuesday, detectives in Montgomery County obtained arrest warrants for Carbajal and Tome, charging them with one count each of first-degree rape, second-degree rape, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and second-degree assault, police there said.
On Wednesday, detectives in Montgomery County arrested Carbajal and Tome on the strength of the arrest warrants at their home, police announced.
Carbajal and Tome were both ordered to be held on a $500,000 bond.
In DC, the Metropolitan Police Department’s Youth and Family Services Division announced Thursday that they will extradite Carbajal to DC, in connection with the case, which they called a First Degree Child Sexual Abuse case, that occurred Saturday, March 26, in the 5100 block of 8th Street, Northwest.
Carbajal is awaiting extradition to Washington, DC., according to DC Police.
Alexandria Police have not released any information about their investigation of the alleged crime in Alexandria.
