Public Invited to Speak on Proposed Real Estate Tax at Saturday Hearing
City Council will hear public comment on real estate and personal property tax rates on Saturday with a May 7 final vote expected.

City Council will hear public comment at its Saturday morning hearing on the 2012 real estate and personal property tax rates beginning at 9:30 a.m. in council chambers at .
City Council to authorize a maximum possible real residential property tax increase to $1.008 per $100 assessed value, an increase of one cent.
The personal property tax rate on vehicles and business tangible property tax rates would remain unchanged.

Individuals wishing to speak on the issue can sign up online prior to the public hearing or call the Office of the City Clerk and Clerk of Council at 703-746-4550. Presenters are requested to provide a copy of their text to the city clerk and clerk of council. Council will vote on a final real property tax rate when it adopts the operating budget and Capital Improvement Program on May 7.
