Two Women Assaulted on Mill Road

Alexandria police say two women suffered minor injuries after being assaulted by a man who they thought was going to show them an available apartment.

Two women were assaulted in Alexandria’s Carlyle area by a man they scheduled to meet after responding to an ad for an available apartment.

The man allegedly grabbed the women in the 2200 block of Mill Road Tuesday evening and physically assaulted them after taking them to an abandoned building there.

One of the woman had minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, according to police. They were not sexually assaulted. Police received several calls identifying trouble in the Carlyle area.

The man, who is still at large, is described as white, having a tall, thin build and appeared to be in his 20s or 30s. He has reddish hair that was pulled back in a ponytail, with the ponytail portion of his hair a significantly lighter, blondish color. He has green eyes and was last seen wearing a black coat with three-quarter-length sleeves.

Police searched the building and do not believe he is still located there.
