Vola's Dockside Grill Grand Opening to Raise Funds for Animal Shelter

New Alexandria restaurant's grand opening will raise funds to help the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Members of the public are invited next week to Vola’s Dockside Grill & Hi-Tide Lounge for the restaurant's grand opening ceremony and fundraiser to benefit the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA), according to a news release from the restaurant.

The event, set for Wednesday, Sept. 7, will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6 p.m., with members of Vola Lawson’s family, Alexandria Mayor Allison Silberberg, and AWLA Executive Director Megan Webb.

The general public is encouraged to visit and enjoy the “Elect-A- Pet” fundraiser from 6-9 p.m., tied to the AWLA’s celebrated annual calendar. Space outside the restaurant will be reserved for guests to meet pet candidates and view adoptable pets from the AWLA shelter.

Guests dining at Vola’s will be given one complimentary vote, and the option of purchasing one-night-only discounted votes at 15 for $10.

Alexandria Restaurant Partners will also be donating 25 percent of all restaurant sales from 6-9 p.m. to the Animal Welfare League.
