Holiday Volunteering: Department of Community and Human Services

Reach out to eligible low income families, foster children, and elderly or disabled citizens by volunteering to help out the DCHS Holiday Sharing Program.

The holiday season is here and that means Alexandria communities seek volunteers for many and different causes.

The Alexandria Patches are highlighting good causes seeking volunteers during this holiday season.

What: Holiday Sharing Program

When: Saturdays on Oct. 13, 20, 27, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or Sundays, Oct. 14, 21, noon to 4 p.m., or any portion of those times

Where: DCHS Center, 2525 Mt. Vernon Ave., Alexandria, VA 22301

Why: Be part of the holiday spirit and reach out to eligible low income families, foster children, and elderly or disabled citizens through the DCHS Holiday Sharing Program. You will talk to the parent of an eligible family and enter information in the Wish Lists database. No computer experience is necessary. Spanish-speakers are particularly encouraged. Older high school students welcome.
