• $35K grant funds new heart monitors for Va. county ambulances (gov1.com) — Pocahontas residents will soon see upgraded heart monitors on local ambulances thanks to a $35,000 Appalachian Power Foundation grant to Tazewell County. The funding equips every county and town EMS unit, including Pocahontas, with standardized Lifepak 35 monitors that improve vital-sign tracking, CPR support, and communication so patients receive the same advanced care whether at home, on the road, or at community events.
