The Blue Ribbon Burger is topped with crispy bacon, fresh arugula, and pimento cheese sauce, all served on a buttery brioche bun.

Chef Chas Stetson, Director of Dining at Avery Point, an Erickson Senior Living community in Short Pump, Virginia, earned top honors at the State Fair of Virginia’s Commonwealth Burger Battle this October, taking home first place and the Blue Ribbon for creating the best burger in Virginia. The competition was sponsored by the Virginia Beef Council.
After the competition, Chef Stetson collaborated with Erickson Senior Living’s Culinary Team to bring the award-winning smash burger to Erickson Residents. The Blue Ribbon Burger is topped with crispy bacon, fresh arugula, and pimento cheese sauce, all served on a buttery brioche bun.
To celebrate this achievement, Avery Point featured the Blue Ribbon Burger, officially crowned the best burger in Virginia, as a special menu item in its onsite restaurants, where more than 600 residents enjoyed the award-winning creation.
