Chesterbrook Academy® Preschoolers Donate Supplies to Children in Need

Summer campers at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool on Old Pump Road in Richmond recently donated dozens of school supplies items to Safe Harbor, a nonprofit organization that provides shelter, counseling, and support to local community members in need. For the past two weeks, campers held a school supply drive to collect donations and various school supplies to benefit children supported by the organization.

Chesterbrook Academy Preschool instills a sense of social responsibility at an early age by implementing opportunities for students to learn about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others in need. Its signature Links to Learning preschool curriculum emphasizes social-emotional learning as a stepping stone for kindergarten and beyond. Teachers work with children to help recognize and label emotions in themselves and others, while learning how they fit into their community and the larger world.
