How To Watch Glenn Youngkin's Inauguration In Richmond

For people traveling to Richmond on Saturday for the inauguration, the new governor's swearing-in ceremony is free and open to the public.

RICHMOND, VA — Glenn Youngkin will be sworn into office on Saturday as the 74th governor of Virginia and will be the first Republican to serve as governor since Robert McDonnell left office in January 2014.

The ceremony will take place at noon on Saturday on the steps of the State Capitol in Richmond. For people traveling to Richmond for the inauguration, the swearing-in ceremony is free and open to the public.

Also on Saturday, Lt. Gov.-elect Winsome Sears and Attorney General-elect Jason Miyares will be sworn into office.

An inaugural parade will take place following the swearing-in ceremony at 1:20 p.m. Parade participants will march through Capitol Square.

Be sure to bring a warm coat, gloves and a hat because the high temperature on Saturday in Richmond is forecast to be 32 degrees, with winds making it feel much colder.

Youngkin is scheduled to open the doors of the executive mansion for an open house on Sunday, which will be open to the public. There's no word yet on whether the snow in the forecast on Sunday will allow the open house to go forward.

The inauguration will be livestreamed on the Youngkin inauguration website and will begin at noon on Saturday.

Members of the public who cannot attend the ceremony in person can also watch it on NBCWashington.com and in the NBC Washington app and on FOX5DC.
