Southampton Earns Two Gold Seals of Approval from The Joint Commission
Richmond, Va., Skilled Nursing Facility Recognized for Quality Care, Services

Southampton Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Richmond has earned two prestigious Gold Seals of Approval® for its quality care and services from The Joint Commission, the nation’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. Located at 7246 Forest Hills Avenue, the skilled nursing center provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care.
Southampton earned its Nursing Care Center Accreditation and Post-Acute Care Certification after a rigorous, unannounced onsite review by the independent, nonprofit organization. During the visit, The Joint Commission team evaluated compliance with performance standards across a range of areas, including emergency management, environment of care, infection prevention and control, and leadership.
The Joint Commission’s evidence-based standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement specialists and patients to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance. An organization that achieves The Gold Seal of Approval shows its commitment to holding itself accountable to a high bar for quality and safety for those they serve.
