State Scholarship Programs & their SAT & ACT Score Requirements

The SAT (and ACT) are still required for most Merit Based Financial Aid nor that students DO NOT NEED to "ace" these tests to qualify.

You don't have to have a perfect score or even a score in the top 10% on the SAT in order to compete for state scholarships.

State scholarships can make a significant difference in the lives of students seeking higher education. They help ease the financial burden of tuition fees and offer opportunities to students who may not otherwise have access to higher education. In spite of the "Test Optional" movement, most state scholarship organizations still use standardized tests such as the SAT, PSAT, and ACT to determine awards.

Here is the SAT information for Virginia, North Carolina, and Maryland.
