• Dead vultures in Rocky Mount mark 14th bird flu case in Virginia since July (wdbj7.com) — Fifteen vultures recently found dead near Franklin and Dent Street in Rocky Mount tested positive for the H5 strain of bird flu, marking Virginia’s 14th case since July. State wildlife officials say the risk to people is low, and Mayor Holland Perdue emphasizes that town water is safe and there’s no current danger to the public.
