Jackknifed Tractor-Trailer Due To Tailgating Driver: VA State Police

Virginia State Police cited the driver of a passenger vehicle involved in a crash with two tractor-trailers on I-495 on Wednesday morning.

TYSONS, VA — A 28-year-old man was at fault for a collision involving two-tractor trailers and a passenger vehicle during the Wednesday morning commute on the Capital Beltway in the Tysons area, according to Virginia State Police.

VSP responded around 7:01 a.m., for the report of a crash near exit for the Dulles Toll Road (Exit 45) in the southbound lanes of I-495 . The impact of the crash involving the three vehicles caused one of the tractor-trailers to jackknife. No injuries were reported.

VSP reported that the 28-year-old driver was at fault and he was charged with following too closely.
