Metro School of the Arts to Celebrate 10 Years; Performs at The Vault

​Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA), a performing arts school in Alexandria Va., will perform its 10th Anniversary Academy Showcase

Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA), a non-profit performing arts school in Alexandria Va., will perform its 10th Anniversary Academy Showcase, Fri., May 12 at 7 p.m., and Sat., May 13 at 6 p.m. at The Vault at Capital One Hall in Tysons, Va., located at 7750 Capital One Tower Rd. Twenty-two MSA students, ages 12 to 18, will present a cabaret-style performance with live music and guest artists, including student musicians from the Westminster School Camarata orchestra in Annandale, Va. and Meredith Mancini, a harpist from Laurel, Maryland. The show will feature selections of classic and contemporary theatre, musical theatre and dance with pieces from 42nd Street, Eurydice, The Sound of Music, Twelfth Night, Kinky Boots, Jagged Little Pill and many more. Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com) with the Friday show priced at $30, while the Saturday show that includes a Pre-Performance Reception Celebration is priced at $100 per person. “Our Academy students combine their music, theatre and dance talents every year for our Academy Showcase,” said Michelle Collier, co-executive director of Metropolitan School of the Arts of Alexandria, Va. “We’re equally excited to perform our 10th year show at such a beautiful venue--The Vault at Capital One,” said Collier.

As a non-profit organization, Metropolitan School of the Arts relies on the generous donations of sponsors and the community to sustain operations for its daytime and evening programming. This year’s Showcase is presented with support from Laurel Springs School, ArtsFairfax and Capital One Hall.
