GREAT FALLS, VA — A road closure and detour near Route 7 originally planned for the week of April 25 has been rescheduled to begin on Tuesday, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Springvale Road will be closed for 48 hours starting Tuesday to allow VDOT crews to reconstruct the road's approach to Route 7. During the closure, drivers on Springfield Road can access Route 7 by taking Georgetown Pike to the Utterback Store Road.

During the two-day closure, all residences, public facilities and businesses, including Meadows Farms Nursery, will be accessible via the Utterback Store Road and Georgetown Pike detour, according to VDOT.
