Why are you seeking this office?

I hope to continue to represent our community by listening, researching important issues, and serving as a voice of common sense.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidate(s) seeking this post?

I bring unparalleled experience and analytical skills gained by my 40+ years as an international economist.

What do you see as the top issues facing your city, and how do you address them in your campaign platform?

1)Whether to build an aquatics center (I oppose it); keeping tax rates as low as possible given the deteriorating economic conditions in Northern Virginia (I support sharpening our pencils on town spending; and 3) continuing to oppose a casino in Tysons (I have been very active in opposing the casino, including serving on the steering committee of the No Fairfax Casino coalition).

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I have been an informed, committed, and active councilmember for the past 5+ years, and I have a long track record of public service, including volunteer positions in scouting, church, and community service.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

You can obtain much more information about myself and my positions at chuckforvienna.com
