9/11 Ceremony to Mark 15 Years Since Tragedy
Vienna American Legion Post 180 will host a remembrance service September 11.

VIENNA, VA - Like many communities around the nation, the Town of Vienna will pause this September 11 and remember. American Legion Post 180 will host a remembrance service beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday, September 11, behind the Freeman Store, 131 Church Street NE, to honor those affected by the 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States. Del. Rich Anderson (R-51st District) of the Virginia House of Delegates will be the event’s keynote speaker.
The ceremony will begin after ringing of church bells at 8:46 a.m. to commemorate the time the first plane struck the north tower of the World Trade Center. The ceremony will include the presentation of colors by the Vienna Police Department color guard and a performance by the Vienna Choral Society.
