Free Blast Off Event With Fireworks Kicks Off Wolf Trap Summer Season
A free show with fireworks will be the first of summer Filene Center performances at Wolf Trap. Space will be limited.

VIENNA, VA — There's no shortage of summer kick-off happenings in the Vienna area over Memorial Day weekend, between the three-day Viva Vienna festival and the start of Wolf Trap's summer season with a fireworks display.
The annual Blast Off! event at Wolf Trap on Sunday officially kicks off Wolf Trap's summer season at the Filene Center. The free event features a performance by the “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, followed by a fireworks display.
The event starts at 8 p.m., and gates will open at 6:30 p.m. Seating is available first come, first served. The park will close at capacity. After the performance, the fireworks viewing areas will open at about 9:30 p.m., and the fireworks display will start around 9:45 p.m.

The Memorial Day weekend event precedes a summer season filled with live performances at the Filene Center. Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods performances will also be held on select days from June 20 to Aug. 9.
During summer performances, a Wolf Trap Shuttle provides round-trip bus service between the Filene Center and the McLean Metro Station on the Silver Line. Buses run every 20 minutes, starting two hours before show times. Parking is free but limited. Wolf Trap recommends carpooling or arriving early for sold-out performances.
