Bookstore/Cafe Wine Bar Coming to Vienna

Bards Alley, independent bookstore + wine cafe, will host events like story time, author appearances and book clubs in Vienna.

VIENNA, VA -- A combination book store and cafe wine bar called Bards Alley will be opening this spring in Vienna, says owner Jen Morrow, a resident of Vienna.

Morrow, who formerly worked in a consulting business, said she decided to create Bards Alley because she was looking for that "third place" where she and other kindred spirits could gather in Vienna.

"We've been hard at work, and by that I mean I have," she said with a laugh, noting that she's received lots of encouragement from people who have heard about the book store. Morrow says that Bards Alley, which she hopes to open in May, will be a place for book clubs, book signings, children's story time, poetry and writer's workshops.

Located at 110 Church St. NW (see map below), the independent bookstore will be a gathering place for the community, carrying new fiction and literary classics, non-fiction and biographies, young adult literature and children's books. "I've always been a book lover," said Morrow, mother of two. Children's books "lead to so much learning, adventure and fun."

Bards Alley will carry a rotating selection of wine and craft beer, as well as coffee, to accompany locally made bread, cheese, soup and charcuterie.
