Call Your Mother Deli specializes in bagels as sandwiches or topped with spreads. Diners can also find other items like latkes, baked goods, coffee and more. According to the restaurant's website, its bagel is a blend of New York-style and Montreal-style bagels.
The bagel shop, founded by Daniela Moreira and Andrew Dana, started in farmers markets and opened its flagship location in DC's Park View neighborhood in 2018. It has since expanded to other parts of DC, Maryland, Virginia and even Denver. The owners drew inspiration for their menu from their life experiences — Dana from growing up Jewish and Moreira from working at restaurants and growing up in Argentina. Most ingredients are made in-house, except for certain products sourced from local producers.
