2024 Guide To Holiday Displays Around Northern Virginia, Fredericksburg
From synchronized lights to Christmas character inflatables, these displays are worth checking out this holiday season.

NORTHERN VIRGINIA — If you love homes that evoke Clark Griswold, Patch has a list of some of the impressive holiday light displays around your neighborhood and beyond. Every year, we share a guide to displays around Northern Virginia and the Fredericksburg area.
Below are the submissions we've received by town and other Patch editor recommendations. These displays are worth a visit due to residents go all out with fun inflatables, dazzling lights and sometimes synchronized shows.

This illuminated display on a cul-de-sac is on through Jan. 1. Lights are on until 10 p.m. or 11 p.m. each night, weather permitting.
9 Wallace Farms Lane, Fredericksburg, VA 22406

This display is a synchronized light show programmed to music. The show has a mix of 11 songs, which can be heard on the radio on FM 97.7. Some highlights are Santa Shark and a tribute to Virginia Tech Hokies due to several graduates in the family. An 18-foot mega tree and two 16-foot spinners stand at the center of the display and provide visual effects during the show. The display runs nightly from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. through the night of Jan. 1. It is weather permitting and may not be on during wet weather.
6013 Wickenden St. Fredericksburg, VA 22407

Bartley's Winter Wonderland is a colorful display featuring a large ice pond with Santa in his sleigh, deer, polar bears, Rudolph and Bumble, trees, bears, juggling snowman and much more. Music is on during weekends and closer to Christmas. The display is located on a cul-de-sac and is open 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. nightly.

This display features thousands of lights with a lighted lawn, over a dozen inflatables, homemade lollipops, lighted statue sculptures, icicles and wreaths.
7435 Pensacola Place, Gainesville, VA


The Andruzzi family has been doing a Christmas display for 12 years. It features more than 50,000 lights, cutouts to take pictures with, and music. Snow is activated on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.

The Patrick family started working on their holiday light display on Oct. 25 and put in more than 100 hours. The family is ready to show off their display, which has a half-acre covered in lights. Highlgihts include a 9.7-foot Bumble, 8-foot Santa, 9-foot reindeer, candy cane forest with a 40-foot candy cane tree, large tree with 5,000 lights, and countdown to Santa sign. On one side of the yard, the Patrick Family Christmas Tree Farm features over 20 trees, animatronic deer, green grass that sparkles.
Paula Patrick says the display met her husband's goal of having over 100,000 lights.
"In reality my husband wants to give as many people as possible a small moment of Christmas cheer this season," Patrick shared. "It has been a tough few years for everyone, and this is his way of trying to show people there is still joy in these trying times."
The display is on nightly from 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., weather permitting. The display is off during heavy rain due to safety hazards.
Oakton Park Court, Vienna, VA


This cul-de-sac of homes goes all out as a neighborhood for holiday decorating. Some highlights are Santa and his reindeer on the roof, an illuminated igloo, a life-sized Santa, colorful tree lights, plentiful candy canes and much more. Visit the Oakton Park Lights Facebook page for more updates, and visit Saturday, Dec. 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for a visit from Santa and the Vienna Ben & Jerry's truck for hot chocolate from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

This home and neighbors on the cul-de-sac bring returning displays. The display includes Santa’s workshop, Whoville, Frozen, gingerbread skiing, train station, a dog adoption center and much more to look at.

The Grinch and other inflatables are familiar faces in this display.
