VIENNA, VA — An electronic music producer who has grown his career through streaming and playing festivals will return for a hometown show in the DC area.

Teddy Beats, a D.C.-born music producer whose real name is Theodore Bloomquist, will perform at Jammin’ Java in Vienna on Friday, Aug. 22 at 8 p.m. The show comes as the producer celebrates a milestone of 40 million streams. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Teddy Beats's music is described as "genre bending" rather than traditional electronic dance music. The producer describes his music as "indie electronic leaning chill house genre," with a more underground feel with heavy drums and synth. According to the artist, EDM is more popular in Europe, and Teddy Beats is one of the few Americans finding success in the genre.

Born in D.C., Teddy Beats left for college before returning home and meeting his now-wife, Mandy. The performer says the Jammin' Java performance will feature a mellow set and new music inspired by his wife.

"Typically at colleges and festivals, I play a hype set, so to be able to play a set of my chill all-original music is rare for me," said the producer. "Which means I will also get to play my new album 'i made this all for you.' I actually made it for my wife, Mandy. She wanted new music to do yoga to, so I made her this album. My love language is making music."

Jammin' Java is a live music venue with a bar and café in Vienna. The venue is one of seven local venues under the umbrella of the Union Stage Presents. For more information and more upcoming shows, visit www.unionstagepresents.com/jammin-java.
