Food Service Returns To Wolf Trap Summer Performances With New Bar

VIENNA, VA — Concertgoers with an appetite before Wolf Trap summer shows can find food and drink offerings at The Fermented Pig at Ovations.

The Fermented Pig, a barbecue-focused food vendor, will return to Wolf Trap's on-site restaurant Ovations. There will be an updated farm-to-table buffet menu with vegan and gluten-free options as well as a picnic box option and new quick service bar.

"We are thrilled to be back at Ovations for another summer season," said Chef Joshua Plante, owner of The Fermented Pig. "For the first time since 2019, guests will be able to order picnic boxes to enjoy during their Wolf Trap performance. We are firmly rooted in the farm-to-table movement and, as always, each dish is created using the highest-quality, fresh, locally sourced ingredients."

The buffet is served before Wolf Trap summer performances outside overlooking Wolf Trap's meadow. The menu will include barbecue favorites like prime brisket and pulled pork as well as vegan specialties, house-made cured products, roasted salmon, grilled portabella mushrooms, baked sweets and cocktails.

New this year is the Side Bar, which will have a quick service menu and limited selection of cocktails and wine. The quick service menu includes options like house cured charcuterie, Nordic Knot pretzels and a rotating menu of bites.

Another option for concertgoers is pre-ordering picnic boxes for one. Boxes include an entrée, salad, two sides, and dessert plus accoutrement. Examples of entrées are Herb Chicken Salad, cold Fried Chicken, Vegetable Pasta and more. Condiments and compostable cutlery are provided with each box. Picnic boxes must be ordered by 8 p.m. the night before the performance and are picked up at the Ovations Pavilion.

Food is allowed in Wolf Trap's Meadow Overlook picnic area or the lawn area of the Filene Center. Food is not allowed in any in-house seats at the Filene Center.
