Free MetroFest To Make Stop At Vienna-Fairfax Station

The free MetroFest will give riders a closer look at the people and services behind D.C.'s Metro system.

VIENNA, VA — A festival celebrating all things Metro will arrive at the Vienna Metro station on Saturday.

MetroFest, a festival focused on celebrating Metro's transit services, will be held Saturday, July 26, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Orange Line's Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metro Station (9550 Saintsbury Drive, Fairfax, VA). At the event, attendees can board Metro vehicles, meet team members and get a behind-the-scenes look at how Metro operates. Metro staff will be on hand to share information, answer questions and guide attendees through exhibits. There will also be music, snacks and activities.

Guests can enjoy music, tasty snacks, and fun activities. Throughout the event, Metro staff will be on hand to share information, answer questions, and guide attendees through exciting exhibits and photo-worthy moments, including opportunities to step inside Metro vehicles and specialized equipment.

"This event gives us a fun, meaningful way to connect with our community," said Metro General Manager and CEO Randy Clarke in a news release. "It’s a chance to meet the incredible team behind the system, get up close with our vehicles and equipment, and celebrate what Metro means to the region."

MetroFest is free to attend, but attendees are encouraged to RSVP.
