Halloween Display Guide 2025: Check Out These Spooky Yards In Northern VA

From a synchronized display to haunted yards, here are the Halloween displays in our 2025 guide around Northern Virginia and Fredericksburg.

VIRGINIA — Throughout October, ordinary homes around Northern Virginia and Fredericksburg become the stomping grounds of ghosts, skeletons, zombies and other creepy creatures.

One of the best traditions during the spooky season is visiting Halloween displays. We asked Northern Virginia Patch readers to share their Halloween yard displays for our 2025 guide.

Below are some of the photos we've received from Virginia residents. We will continue adding to our Halloween display guide through Halloween on Friday, Oct. 31.

1805 Macadams Place, Alexandria, VA

This Fort Hunt home's front yard is transformed into Tombstones and Tangled Webs, a graveyard with tombstones, ghouls, and skeletons. Bright purple, orange, red, and green lights wrap the home and trees, and oversized spiderwebs and hungry spiders await to catch their next prey.

The display by Michelle Madison and Eric Breese is open Oct. 2 to Nov. 2, from sunset to 10 p.m. There is free street parking, but visitors are asked to not block neighbors' homes and avoid touching the display.

5711 Norton Rd, Alexandria VA

The Reynozo Family Light Show is a synchronized LED light show set to music. It is open Oct. 18 to 31, from, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Visitors are asked to not block neighbors' driveways, pull over to the curb to watch the show and use the radio station number posted in the yard. 4507 Neptune Drive Alexandra VA

Kids in the neighborhood have been calling this home "The Murder House," according to resident George Perez. This display combines handmade graveyard tombstones, zombies and skeletons to offer 13 scary scenes.

Hours are 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout October. There is free street parking, but visitors are asked to not block neighbors' homes and avoid touching the display.

6230 Washington Blvd, Arlington, VA

This display takes its name "A Year in Review" to heart with skeletons based on viral moments and QR codes linked to the videos inspiring the moments. It is open through Nov. 2.

Fog machines and spooky displays highlight this Halloween setup open through Nov. 1.

6312 Wilmington Drive, Burke, VA

This display features projector mapping that turns the house into a haunted house with dancing skeletons and singing ghosts. The yard is filled with singing pumpkins and moving animatronics. It is open through Oct. 31.

10213 Sager Ave, Fairfax, VA

This display called the Grabby Graveyard is highlighted by inflatables. It is viewable during the day and night. The homeowner is looking to add a projector to make the pumpkin sing songs at night. The Grabby Graveyard opened on Sept. 28 and will remain up through Nov. 2.

6013 Wickenden St, Fredericksburg, VA

The Bartley 2025 Halloween display is open through Oct. 31. Candy will be passed out on Halloween. Visitors are asked not to enter the yard due to tripping hazards.

The neighborhood knows this home as the Halloween House. New decorations are added leading up to Halloween. On Halloween, special pieces come out, the fog is activated and perhaps a few scares are in the mix.

"I've been the Halloween House since we moved in," resident Tess Clark said. "People drive by yearly asking if certain items will be back, giving words of encouragement or thanking me for the decorations."

The display is open for drive-bys only until Halloween, when it will be open for trick-or-treat. Visitors are asked to not walk in the yard.

2001 Millgarden Drive, Fredericksburg, VA

The annual Hilliard display features various details to look at, from ghosts to skeletons and pumpkins.

6820 Violet Dr, Fredericksburg, VA

Halloween Land is a display filled with animatronics, skeletons, ghosts, spiderwebs and lights. Visit anytime after 7 p.m. from Oct. 15 to 31. Visitors are asked to drive slowly and be safe when parking and taking pictures.

This display has plenty of bone-chilling features, such as giant spider, skeleton, dog, scarecrow, witches, lights, music and more. It is open nightly after dark.

2085 Whisperwood Glen Lane, Reston, VA

This Little Townhouse of Horror Halloween display has been going for over 12 years. The residents have a townhouse, but neighbors have allowed the display to span to a total of three houses. The theme changes each year — this year focuses on a pumpkin and cornfield. Visitors can expect projections, animatronics, interactive items, sound, lights, fog, a graveyard, and more. Halloween brings the tradition of full-size candy being distributed and a neighborhood fire pit hangout if weather allows.

"We love Reston and have been featured in local magazines for our decorations (inside and out)," resident Dorothy West says.

The display is open through the first weekend of November. Little Townhouse of Horror is linked on the Frightmaps App and is collects donations for St. Jude.

Lyndsay and Nick Von Ehrenhelm's display called The Boostro is the spookiest restaurant in town. Visitors are asked to not enter the display. It is open through Oct. 31.
