Hit-And-Run Of Pedestrian Leads To Charge In Vienna

VIENNA, VA — A man is facing a charge for a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in Vienna, according to the town's police department.

The hit-and-run happened on Nov. 28 in the 900 block of Park Street SE. Officers found a pedestrian that had been struck while crossing the street.

According to Vienna Police, detectives responding to the scene found evidence linking the crash to a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck. That led detectives to an address in New Kent County, Virginia, where the vehicle was found with damage consistent with a hit-and-run.

Police seized the truck and found additional evidence when conducting a search warrant. On Dec. 10, police obtained a warrant to charge the driver, Chad Gaskill, with felony hit-and-run. Gaskill turned himself in to Vienna Police on Dec. 11 and was held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on a $10,000 secured bond.

Police did not disclose the pedestrian's severity of injuries after the hit-and-run.
