Ingrid Christ, 31, Graduate Of Vienna's Madison High School
The family is sharing obituary information for Ingrid Christ, who grew up in Vienna and graduated from Madison High School.

VIENNA, VA — Ingrid Christ, 31, passed away on May 26, 2023 after a devastating battle with mental illness. Ingrid was born in Herndon, Virginia on April 25, 1992 and spent her adolescent years growing up in Vienna, Virginia. Ingrid was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, friend and aunt.
Ingrid graduated from James Madison High School in 2010. At Madison, she was a devoted member of the Warhawk Lacrosse program. Through lacrosse, she gained some of her closest and lifelong friends, whom she treasured dearly.
Ingrid went on to be a proud Virginia Tech Hokie. She flourished academically and graduated from Tech’s honors program with a dual degree in Finance and Accounting and a minor in International Business. Ingrid was a proud member of Virginia Tech’s Student Endowment for Educational Development (SEED). She was incredibly honored to be selected as one of six students to manage SEED’s student run equity portfolio, an experience that catapulted Ingrid into her first job in investment banking with JP Morgan in New York City.

While at Tech, Ingid also developed a passion for international travel and foreign languages. She studied abroad in China and fell in love with spending her free time taking classes in Mandarin and later, in Spanish. Before moving to New York City, Ingrid spent four months backpacking alone throughout South America, where she spent her days exploring beaches, surfing and learning Spanish with other travelers. Ingrid’s adventurous spirit led her on travels throughout the world. In her 31 years, Ingrid traveled to every continent, aside from Antartica. Ingrid weaved her passion for travel and background in finance into her work with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where she focused on managing distressed impact investments in global emerging markets.
Ingrid focused the final years of her life on finding peace and joy. She was an avid yogi and believer in energy work. She loved her dog, Maya, with all her heart – dog walks were her happy place. Ingrid confronted her struggles with mental health through bravery and strength. She did not want her family and friends to shy away from the reality of these struggles in her passing. Ingrid will be remembered for her wit, intelligence, kindness, adventurous spirit and sparkling smile that could light up any room.

Ingrid is survived by her parents, Susan and Roger Christ, and her siblings, Stacy Christ (spouse, Ryan Juhre), Virginia Christ (spouse, Tyler Mann) and William Christ. In lieu of flowers, Ingrid’s family asks that you take a yoga class at your local studio or plan a trip to a new place in honor of Ingrid’s memory.
