Labor Day National Symphony Orchestra Concert on National Mall

Concert Sunday will feature NSO and Storm Large and her band Le Bonheur.

The National Symphony Orchestra will perform a Labor Day Capitol Concert, conducted by Steven Reineke on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.

The free 90-minute concert is scheduled for Sunday at 8 p.m. No tickets are required. Gates open at 3 p.m., with an open rehearsal scheduled at 3:30 p.m.

The NSO performs its annual free Labor Day weekend concert, this year featuring patriotic favorites from Sousa's "The Washington Post" march to "Armed Forces Salute."

The program also features singer Storm Large and her band Le Bonheur in a selection of American Songbook standards including "The Lady is a Tramp," "My Funny Valentine" and "I've Got You Under My Skin," among others.

In case of inclement weather, call the National Symphony Orchestra's Summer Concert Hotline at (202) 416-8114 after 2:30 p.m. on the day of the concert to find out whether the performance will take place at The Capitol, or whether it will move indoors to the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. If the concert moves indoors, there will be NO open rehearsal. The concert hall seats 2,465.
