Madison, Oakton Nominated For Cappies, Tony's Of High School Theater In DC Region
The Cappies, the DC region's Tony's of high school theater, announced schools receiving award nominations.

VIENNA, VA — High school theater productions that left an impression on audiences and student critics have earned nominations for awards. Nominations were announced for the Cappies of the National Capital Area, a Tony Award-like program for local high school theater.
James Madison High School received six nominations for its western comedy "Deadwood Dick, or A Game of Gold" performed in the fall. Nominations include best Play, Jonah Uffelman for Lead Actor in a Male Role in a Play, Fortune Picker for Featured Actor in a Female Role in a Play, Erik Bilawski for Comic Actor in a Male Role in a Play, Lori Collins for Supporting Actor in a Female Role in a Play, and Bailey Pavitt-Graff for Supporting Actor in a Male Role in a Play.
Oakton High School is up for three awards, Colt Craddock for Featured Actor in a Male Role in a Play and Ana Jankovic for Comic Actor in a Female Role in "The Doctor in Wonderland" performed in the fall. Clare Shacochis of Oakton High School is nominated for the Maryland Theater Guide Returning Critic award.

Cappies Review: Oakton High School presents “The Doctor in Wonderland”
The Cappies recognize the accomplishments of high school theater as well as student critics who write reviews of high school theater productions. Winners of the Cappies awards will be announced at the Cappies Gala on Monday, June 10 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in DC.
