Mom Sends Chantilly Teen to Siberia Over 'Uncontrollable' Behavior

A Chantilly teen was sent to Siberia after acting rebellious, WUSA*9 reports. 

The 15-year-old Chantilly High School freshman Sofia Petrova was sent to Siberia for what she thought was a vacation. Two years later, she’s still in overseas, the news station reports.

Petrova who was born in Russia, came to the United States with her mother when the child was 2 years old. Just a few days after her 15th birthday, her mother sent her to Siberia after what her parents described as "uncontrollable" behavior, her parents told WUSA.

At 17, Petrova is trying to get back to the U.S. before she turns 18 in March.
