Navy Federal Credit Union Ground-Breaking Ceremony Tuesday for $100 Million Expansion

Vienna-based Navy Federal Credit Union held a groundbreaking ceremony for its $100 million expansion in Winchester, Va.

A ground-breaking ceremony took place Tuesday in Winchester, Va. for Vienna-based Navy Federal Credit Union. CEO of the company, Cutler Dawson, was joined by Gov. Terry McAuliffe and Secretary of Commerce Todd Haymore and other dignitaries, at the ceremony, which followed the recent announcement of the company's $100 million expansion of its operation center in Winchester.

“This expansion, which we expect will bring over 1,400 jobs to the area, will pave the way for greater innovation and career opportunities in Frederick County, and will act as a catalyst for further investment and job creation from additional companies,” said Susan Brooks, Senior Vice President Contact Center Winchester Operations at Navy Federal Credit Union. The addition of a 180,000 square-foot building and five-story parking garage is the largest business expansion in the history of the county.

McAuliffe made the first announcement of the expansion during his recent State of the Commonwealth address. He granted more than $6 million of state funds to secure the project, believing it will have a positive impact on the area.
