One Of CVS Locations To Close In Vienna Amid Nationwide Closures

CVS, which has plans to close hundreds of more locations in 2025, is including one Vienna store in the plans.

VIENNA, VA — A CVS location in Vienna is among hundreds of stores reported to be closing in 2025.

CVS Health spokesperson Kara Page confirmed to Patch that the store at the Cedar Park Shopping Center (264 Cedar Ln SE) will close on April 1. All prescriptions will be transferred to the next closest location, 337 East Maple St. in Vienna. Customers may also choose to take their prescriptions to another CVS location or a pharmacy of their choice.

Fox5DC had reported that 270 CVS locations will be closing in 2025. It is part of a multi-year effort first announced in late 2021.

"Store closure decisions are based on several factors, including population shifts, consumer buying patterns, store and pharmacy density, pharmacy care access, and community health needs," the CVS spokesperson said in a statement. "We’re focused on ensuring we have the right kinds of stores and the right number of stores in the right locations."

Page said Fairfax County will continue to have more than 40 locations serving Fairfax County. Prescription delivery with same-day, one-day and two-day options available to eligible customers. Other CVS locations near Vienna include (8117 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA; 3053 Nutley St, Fairfax, VA; 2912 Chain Bridge Rd, Oakton, VA; and 8124 Arlington Boulevard, Falls Church, VA)

Despite the departure of CVS, the Cedar Park Shopping Center will continue to draw visitors between its restaurants and a new tenant. During the renovation of the Patrick Henry Library, the soon-to-be renamed Vienna-Carter Library, the temporary library pick-up will be located at the shopping center. According to Fairfax County, the library project's design phase finished in January, and it is entering the bidding and construction phase. Construction may begin in spring or early summer 2025 and finish for occupancy in summer 2027.
