VDOT is replacing the weight-restricted, one lane bridge that dates back to 1974. The project is scheduled to be completed later this summer and will have two lanes separated by a median with landscaping and an improved trail crossing south of the bridge. The project leaves room for a new trail bridge over Colvin Run, which Fairfax County plans to build at a later time.
