80-Year-Old Vienna Pedestrian Killed In Crash At Oakton Intersection: Police
Fairfax County Police say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle attempting a turn near the Oakton Shopping Center.

OAKTON, VA — A pedestrian from Vienna died in a crash in Oakton Saturday morning, Fairfax County Police say.
Police had responded to the Hunter Mill Road and Lynnhaven Place intersection near the Oakton Shopping Center around 8:42 p.m. Saturday. Based on investigations, detectives believe the pedestrian entered the crosswalk at the intersection. A Ford F-150 attempting to make a turn into the Oakton Shopping Center from Hunter Mill Road struck the pedestrian.
Choon Kook, 80, of Vienna, was taken to the hospital and was later pronounced dead.

The driver remained at the scene of the crash. Detectives do not believe speed or alcohol were factors for the driver in the crash. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor for the pedestrian.
