Police Log: One Charged After Fight at McDonald's
The following arrest information was supplied by the Vienna Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Vienna Police responded to a report of a fight in the McDonald's parking lot in the early morning hours of Aug. 26.
An officer observed a vehicle pulling away from the McDonald's, at 544 Maple Ave., and noticed the driver had blood on his face.
After being pulled over, the driver, Erik Mendoza, 19, of Ivy Bush Court in Reston, was aggressive and uncooperative but did admit to being involved in a fight, police said.

The officer also detected the odor of alcohol and charged Mendoza with underage possession of alcohol. Mendoza was issued a summons, and a cab was called to take him home.

- A resident reported she had several pieces of jewelry taken from her home on the 100 block of East Street NE between noon May 1 and noon July 28. The resident told police she had a tenant living with her for two months. After the tenant left, she noticed the jewelry was missing.
- A resident reported an unknown person had opened a fraudulent PayPal account using his identity noon July 15. This case is being investigated.
- A citizen reported she turned her watch in for repair at Princess Jewelers, 529 Maple Ave., West. The watch was sent to a secondary location to be repaired. A homicide occurred at that business shortly thereafter, and the store's inventory is being held during the investigation. The woman advised she knew the watch was being held in the homicide investigation, but insisted it either be replaced or returned immediately. An officer advised her the matter was civil.
- A resident on the 600 block of Yeonas Drive SW reported an unknown person used her credit card 12:01 a.m. July 24 to make a purchase online. This case is being investigated.
- A resident on the 600 block of Yeonas Drive SW reported an unknown person used her credit card at multiple locations out of state at 12:01 Aug. 11. This case is being investigated.
- A resident on the 500 block of Creek Crossing Road NE reported he had lost his wife's tennis necklace between noon Aug. 13 and noon Aug. 17.
- A resident reported that unknown persons have been illegally dumping trash on the property on the 100 block of Follin Lane SE at midnight Aug. 15.
- A resident reported her two unlocked vehicles had been entered while parked in her driveway on the 600 block of John Marshall Drive NE between 7 p.m. Aug. 21 and 7 a.m. Aug. 22. She estimates a total of about $15 was stolen from the vehicles.
- The Department of Public Works advised of two incidents where buckets of hazardous materials were left abandoned on the 500 block of Tapawingo Road SW at 5 p.m. Aug. 23. The Town disposed of the buckets.
- A resident reported a suspicious vehicle on the 1100 block of Desale Street SW where the driver was taking pictures of the neighborhood at 2:27 p.m. Aug. 24. An officer stopped the vehicle and identified the driver. The driver advised he was conducting training for a security company.
- A resident reported she located a bag of miscellaneous items left abandoned in front of Ocean Cleaners, 237 Maple Ave., East at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 24. The employees advised they did not know who the bag belonged to. The resident turned the property in to the police to be released to the owner upon request.
- An employee of Michel Rene Salon, 165 Maple Ave., East, reported another employee had become disorderly after being fired from the business at 10:42 a.m. Aug. 25. The disorderly subject was upset about money she believed was owed to her. Officer Myers responded and advised the upset employee that the matter was civil and that she should consult with a lawyer. She was told not to return to the property.
- A citizen reported his cell phone had been stolen from his unlocked pick-up truck at the Town Green, 144 Maple Ave., NE, at 2 p.m. Aug. 25.
- A citizen reported at 8 p.m. Aug. 25 that her brother had come to her father's residence on the 400 block of Hine St., SE, after being forbidden to return in 2009. She was advised to have their father seek a warrant with the Magistrate’s Office for the trespassing. Their father obtained the warrant. Officer Kiley located and arrested Charles Jenkins Edelen V, 29, of Park Terrace Court SE in Vienna for trespassing. He was transported to Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
- A resident reported at 11:50 p.m. Aug. 25 an unknown person egged his daughter's car on the 400 block of Branch Road SE. The daughter believes it may have been a friend she has had a falling out with.
