Police Log: Thief Gets Away At Michael's

The following arrest information was supplied by the Vienna Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction

Highlights from the Vienna Police Department, Dec. 14 to 21

  •  A woman on Westview Court reported between December of 2010 and February 2011 she and her husband met a woman at a party and became friends. The woman then began to create havoc within their marriage and eventually the complainant moved in with the woman. During this time the complainant reports a series of assaults and harassments. Police are still investigating the case.
  • The owner of , 350 Maple Avenue, SW, reported after delivering some food to a customer he was given a check to pay for the items. The check was then returned due to insufficient funds. Attempts to have the customer make good on the check have been unsuccessful.This case is still being investigated.
  • While investigating a parking complaint at 8:36 a.m. Dec. 10 on Ware Street, Police found a box that appeared to contain marijuana inside the vehicle. An investigation revealed marijuana was in fact in the box. Police issued a summons to vehicle owner R M McCabe Weaver, 24, of Haymarket, Va., for possession of marijuana. He was released after signing it.
  • A man reported between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. Dec. 16, he received harassing phone calls from someone he knew. Police contacted the suspect and asked him to stop calling.
  • An employee of , 311 Maple Avenue East, reported a person stole a bamboo tree from inside the store around 8:45 p.m. Dec. 16 and then exited. The employee followed the person to the parking lot and told them he was calling the police; the person fled in a car. The employee was unable to get a license plate number from the vehicle.
  • The owner of Nicholas Chimney and Stove, 239 Mill Street, NE reported at 9 a.m. Dec. 17 someone had stolen stainless steel stock from a storage trailer.
  • At 12:28 a.m. Dec.18, a security guard on Cedar Lane reported a man who appeared to be drunk was trying to enter his vehicle, and then began vomiting in the parking lot. After investigating, Police arrested Joel Antonio Reyes Turcios, 50, of Vienna for drunk in public. He was then transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
  • At 12:40 p.m. Dec. 18, police saw some men soliciting door to door. After identifying them and failing to find any outstanding warrants, police counseled the three men about the town’s solitication ordinance.
  • Around 12:29 p.m. Dec. 19, a man on Ayrhill Avenue reported finding a box of live ammunition in his attic and brought it to Vienna Police Headquarters for destruction.
  • A woman reported while driving her vehicle at 8:45 p.m. Dec. 19 near Cottage Street and Yeonas Drive SW, something smashed out her passenger side window, but it wasn’t clear what the object was or from where it came.
  • An employee of Louise Archer Elementary School, 324 Nutley Street, NW, reported between 9 a.m. Dec. 20 and 9 a.m. Dec. 21, her vehicle was scratched while parked in the parking lot.
  • An employee of Navy Federal Credit Union reported at 12:33 p.m. Dec. 20, a customer deposited some checks previously believed to have been reported as stolen. The case is still being investigated.
  • At 2:32 p.m. Dec.20, a man came Vienna Police Headquarters and reported that he was in respiratory distress. Fairfax County EMS responded and transported the subject to an area hospital for treatment.
  • A citizen on Glyndon Street SE reported between 5 p.m. Dec. 20 and 6 p.m. Dec. 21, someone broke out the rear window in a parked vehicle.
  • An employee of Diamond Spa, 108 Church Street, NE reported at 7:46 p.m. Dec. 20 they received threatening phone calls from an unknown subject. Police are investigating the case.
