Police Seek Other Victims Of Contractor

Vienna Police are looking for residents who may have been scammed by a contractor arrested last month, who allegedly lied to residents and other contractors about his license and company name, among other parts of his fraudulent business.

The case came to fruition in late October, when a concrete contractor delivered concrete to a site in Vienna for the construction contractor. But when he then tried to deposit the check from the construction contractor, Richard Jenkins, the concrete contractor was told a stop payment had been put on the check. And Jenkins, he said, was nowhere to be found.

After some research, the concrete contractor discovered Jenkins' license had been revoked in 2005, though he continued to operate under the company name Wolftrap Design and Build, which apparently did not legally exist.

After investigating, Vienna Police Detective Sergeant Wickes secured a warrant for Jenkins, 42, of Vienna, charging him with obtaining money by false pretenses -- a felony. Jenkins was arrested Oct. 31 based upon the Vienna warrant for as well as two other others, for violation of professional standards in Virginia and another from Fairfax County charging him with failure to obtain a valid contracting license.

Police say Jenkins has done work throughout the Vienna area. Any other residents who may have used Jenkins services, were victims of a similar scam or have additional information should contact Wickes at 703-255-6394.
