The Police's Andy Summers Among Barns At Wolf Trap Performers

After the summer concert season ends, Wolf Trap will begin concerts at its Barns at Wolf Trap venue.

VIENNA, VA — Even after the summer concert season ends at Wolf Trap's Filene Center, there will be more concerts to enjoy at another Wolf Trap venue.

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts announced its first performances for the 2023-2024 season at the Barns at Wolf Trap, a 382-seat indoor venue. The season will kick off with Andy Summers of The Police on Oct. 13 followed by performances by artists representing various genres.

October also brings local folk icons Magpie on Oct. 14, jazz with the Branford Marsalis Quartet on Oct. 17 and 18, Pablo Cruise and Jim Messina on Oct. 20 and 21, bluegrass musician Sam Bush performing a tribute to bluegrass innovator John Hartford on Oct. 22, Max Weinberg’s Jukebox offering an interactive experience with the audience on Oct. 25 and 26, The New York Arabic Orchestra on Oct. 27, party band Red Baraat on Oct. 28 and Madison McFerrin's "soul-appella" on Oct. 29.

In November, enjoy performances by theater singer Linda Eder on Nov. 2, country bluegrass performer Kathy Mattea on Nov. 8 and 9, collaborative singers säje on Nov. 10, British rockers The Fixx on Nov. 15, Newmyer Flyer: Van Morrison’s Moondance and Bruce Springsteen’s The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle on Nov. 25, The Lone Bellow’s 10th anniversary tour on Nov. 26 and 27; and singer and songwriter Joan Osborne on Nov. 30.

In December, concertgoers can celebrate the holidays with singer and actor Darren Criss in A Very Darren Crissmas show on Dec. 2 and 3.

In the new year, performances include Broadway's Stephanie J. Block on Feb. 9 and 10, Irish folk-rocker Foy Vance on Feb. 2 Beatles tribute 1964: The Tribute on Feb. 7 and 8, sketch comedy, songs, and improvisation with Comedian Rhapsody: The Best of Second City from Feb. 14 to 17, International Guitar Night on Feb. 28 and 29, John Lloyd Young performing classic hits on March 1.

Closer to the spring, offerings include musical storytelling and songs with Dancing with the Celts on March 13 and 14, The New Ballards Branch Bogtrotters, The Blue Ridge Girls, and Ashlee Watkins & Andrew Small on March 23, over 40 local musicians and singers in Bandhouse Gigs: Tribute to Mark Knopfler & Dire Straits on April 6 and 35th Annual Evening of Comedy on April 26 and 27.

In between other Barns at Wolf Trap performances, the Chamber Music at The Barns season will return with artistic advisor Wu Han. Performances include Zukerman: A Musical Birthday Celebration with famed violinist, Pinchas Zukerman, celebrating his 75th birthday by performing Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Dvořák on Nov. 3 and 4, the farewell tour of the Orion String Quartet on Nov. 19, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s Imagination: Coleridge-Taylor, Hahn, Ysaÿe, Bloch on Jan. 28, the world-renowned The Sitkovetsky Trio on Feb. 11, Wu Han, David Finckel & Friends on Feb. 23, Instrumental Odd Couples: Beethoven, Rossini, Duruflé, Britten, Hummel on March 10, the poetry of Emily Dickinson set to music in Emily: A Musical Portrait on April 5 and String Magic: Beethoven, Françaix, Bridge, Mendelssohn on April 19.

Tickets for Barns at Wolf Trap performances will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. on Aug. 11, but Wolf Trap members may purchase tickets ahead of the public sale. See a full list of performances on the Wolf Trap calendar.
