UPDATE: Power Restored to Most in Vienna, Oakton After Sunday Storm

VIENNA, VA — As of Monday morning, shortly after 9 a.m., 47 homes are still without power on Oleander Avenue in Vienna, according to the Dominion Power outage map, after a Sunday thunderstorm hit the area.

Power was out for more than 1,300 residents in Vienna and Oakton on Sunday afternoon, according to Dominion Power.

A line of storms with heavy rains and high winds moved through the region earlier Sunday afternoon.

The cause of the outage and the timeline for power to be restored were pending investigation, according to the Dominion Power outage map.

Other tips from Dominion Power:

• Stay away from downed lines and anything touching them. Always assume lines are energized. Report downed lines at 866-366-4357.
• Use generators safely. Never operate one inside your home or in an enclosed space, such as a garage.
