Robinson Trust Sidewalk Projects Reach Finish Line, Town Says
The Town of Vienna says the Robinson Trust Sidewalk Projects have wrapped up, but other funding sources could advance more projects.

VIENNA, VA — Sidewalk projects funded by a late council member's trust have been completed, and more could be on the way with other funding sources, according to the Town of Vienna.
The town government said in the latest Vienna Voice that Robinson Trust Sidewalk Projects have been finished. Maud Robinson, a former Town Council member and the wife of late mayor Charles Robinson, left the majority of her estate — about $ 7 million — in 2020 to fund sidewalks in areas where they're not being planned or funded.
The trust helped the town provide more than six miles of new sidewalk segments, according to the town. Some of the major roadways receiving new segments of sidewalk were Courthouse Road, Lawyers Road, Beulah Road and Follin Lane. Other sidewalk projects are listed on the town's website.

The town will pursue additional projects in 2025, with 1.4 miles of sidewalks funded by American Rescue Plan Act funds and 1.3 miles from the capital budget. The town's comprehensive plan has a long-term goal of providing sidewalks on both sides of all streets.
