Significant Fire At Vienna Area Horse Farm Leads To 2 Injuries, Fundraisers Started
Fundraisers are underway after residents lost their home in a heavy fire in the Vienna area on Thursday.

VIENNA, VA — Firefighters responded to a heavy house fire at a horse farm in the Vienna area close to the Reston border on Thursday. Fundraisers identified the property are supporting the residents whose home burned down.
Units responded to the house fire in the 1900 block of Hunter Mill Road. Firefighters are working to get the fire under control. Two people were evaluated for non-life-threatening injuries. There were no reported firefighter injuries. As of 1:02 p.m., the fire department said the blaze was under control.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue has not yet released the cause of the fire and damages.

A GoFundMe fundraiser was started for Patricia Icke and her family. Icke's family owns the Angelica Run Farm Horse Farm on the property. The fundraiser noted that they escaped the fire but lost their home and all belongings. As of Friday afternoon, the fundraiser raised over $14,000 of a $24,000 goal.

Another GoFundMe is supporting a renter who had an apartment on the property. The fundraiser said renter LaBrea Bass lost her apartment and belongings and didn't have renters insurance.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue had warned about an increased fire risk Thursday due to dry conditions, low humidity and gusty winds. Officials urged residents to avoid using equipment that can spark and properly dispose of smoking materials.
